Donate Cycles for Needy Students
Long walks, unavailability of public transportation and safety are the huge concerns for the girl students, a main reason for dropping out of schools in India. 32.5% of girls dropout at secondary level due to family financial constraints and non affordability of bicycles.
To address the commuting challenges faced by the underprivileged people, JOSHConnect Foundation joined hands with Pedal Mission movement to fulfil the long list of identified students who are still looking for bicycles. A bicycle is a blessing for the underprivileged, very useful means of transport since it requires very little maintenance and there are no running costs..
We wish to provide bicycles to the identified underprivileged students in rural Maharashtra, who have to walk miles to the school.
The cycles are handed over to the school. Once these students leave the school, cycle will be handed back over to school for other students. This sustainability model will help in perfect utilisation of a donated cycle.
